Separate the logical test from its implementation

A logical test can have one or more technical implementations in Test Sources. This distinction preserves history when repositories, frameworks, or pipelines differ without pretending every similar display name is automatically the same test.

  • Use stable identities and source context, not counts alone.
  • Inspect recent pass/fail/error history and the execution behind each result.
  • Record ownership only where the current implementation supports it.
  • Treat rename, duplicate, and flaky signals as evidence-backed behavior, not guesses.
The stable extension must prove which Catalog filters, history, ownership, and health indicators are available before public marketing uses them.
